Grimace
Grimace is a first-person shooter Roguelike with an SCP theme. You find yourself in an SCP Foundation site after a containment breach. Armed with an anomalous weapon, you must escape the maze-like facility and escape the monsters held within.
Thoughts from Development
This is my final university project. With a completely open brief, I teamed up with some old friends from Fromage Frenzy to create this game. The artists wanted a horror theme, I pushed for a Roguelike, and we settled on the idea for Grimace.
My specialization for this project is Dungeon Generation and the Interaction System. The level generation is based heavily on The Binding Of Isaac and uses a random walk algorithm. I also made all the menus and UI, which includes a modular radial system which was fun to make until I had to polish it. If I ever get around to it I'll write some SCP Documentation for the lore of the game.
