Toadstool Trouble

2.5D puzzle platformer developed in Unity

Toadstool Trouble

As a psychic mushroom man with the power to pause time, solve a series of test chambers by moving boxes, freezing time, and some platforming.

Thoughts from Development

My first game in Unity and a game engine generally. The brief was very open, as I could make anything as long as physics was a large component. After a while, I settled on a puzzle game with the mechanics you see in the final game. It was a surprisingly enjoyable module as I had very few hiccups and settled into Unity quite well. Just don't try to model and rig a mushroom man in Maya with zero experience. I also had to make a Game Design Document for this game, which was also the first time I've properly made one. That is also available to download here as an insight into my decisions while developing the game.

Grade: First (88% for game, 86% for GDD)
